ORIGINAL PARK DESIGN (c. 1975)

Designed by: Beals/Lechner Associates, Inc.

Pellier Park was first dedicated on May 31, 1977, as part of San Jose's bicentennial celebration. The park site is situated within the boundaries of Pellier's nursery named "City Gardens." Land for the park was donated and constructed by volunteers. These efforts were led by Leonard McKay, Jim Arbuckle from E Clampus Vitus, and many other dedicated people. Pellier Park became, the third Historic Lanamark site approved by the City of San Jose.
